Adopt a Returning Citizen - ARC Program
Prisoner Rehabilitation Jobs in Waukesha, WI
The ARC program was developed to allow individuals, churches, and businesses to become involved in helping men successfully return to society from prison. For some returning citizens, facing an unemployment rate of 65% makes finding a job with a family-supporting wage very difficult. When you take into consideration lack of education, limited skills, felony record, drug addiction, temporary housing, and no driver's license, it makes it nearly impossible to find sustainable employment. Financial donations to our prisoner rehabilitation program given on a monthly basis, are used to hire men who desperately need a second chance. These donated funds are used exclusively for the wages of men employed by The New Man Project and may be tax-deductible.
The New Man Project receives no federal or state funding. We are dependent on selling the furniture we make for income and the gracious giving of individuals who have compassion for the chronically underemployed. If you truly want to make a difference in a person’s life, please consider becoming an ARC Member. Family sustaining employment nearly triples the chance of successful reentry, and can bring hope and healing to individuals and families.
The returning citizens at The New Man Project learn to design and build handcrafted wood furniture, including:

However, through the Corporate Connections Program, it could become a reality. One of the goals of The New Man Project is to build partnering relationships with businesses and corporations that see the value of giving second chances to men reentering society from prison and are willing to teach them the skills necessary to become valued employees and productive members of society.
Vocational Volunteer Program
Our Vocational Volunteer Program was developed to encourage individuals with specific skills to work side by side with the men in our program. These volunteers will not only take part in building the products we sell, but will also help the men acquire the necessary woodworking skills to be competitive in today’s marketplace. Another important aspect of their volunteering, is to help in the process of developing the life skills our men will need to become successful members of society. This is an ideal way for individuals to make a difference in the lives of men that are reentering s
